True Traditional Italian Pizzeria

Tony’s Brick Oven of Staten Island opened in 1997 and has become a local landmark of the Rosebank neighborhood. The restaurant practices old school Italian recipes and style to create authentic pizza and Italian cuisine with a hidden-gem New York feel.

Originally from Mola Di Bari, Italy, Angelo Panzini brought recipes and techniques in pizza making and Italian cooking from his home country. Having worked in pizzerias since coming from overseas, Angelo has been mastering the pizza trade for over 40 years.

From mopping floors in Brooklyn pizzerias, to making pizzas, to eventually opening his own pizzeria in Staten Island, Angelo continued a family style of pizza and Italian cooking that customers came to know and trust.

Staten Island, NY — Tony’s Brick Oven Pizza, a cornerstone of the Rosebank and North Shore community, is entering a new chapter as longtime owner Angelo retires after more than 30 years in the pizza business.

For decades, Angelo built Tony’s into a trusted neighborhood destination known for consistent quality, familiar faces, and a true community atmosphere. His retirement marks the end of an era, but the foundation he created remains intact.

Taking over Tony’s Brick Oven Pizza is Sal, bringing a strong background from the seafood industry. Now, he returns to hands-on business ownership with a focus on maintaining what works while upgrading the operation where it counts.

Family-Driven Operation Continues

  • Santino, Sal’s son, will be working in the restaurant throughout the summer.
